Russian Flagship Tutoring
Each week IU Russian Flagship students receive individualized tutoring sessions with native Russian speakers. These one-on-one or small group meetings reinforce classroom learning and offer the opportunity for students to expand their linguistic abilities into their fields of study while working to meet program proficiency goals.
Students meet with the Russian Flagship director and the curriculum coordinator to determine key target areas for tutoring: conversation, academic speaking and writing, etc., to help both students and tutors decide how to best organize their tutoring sessions.
Students meet for tutoring sessions 1-3 times per week (50 minutes per session). Students at the elementary and intermediate level work with tutors 1-2 times per week, students at the higher levels (3rd-year Russian and above) may need to work with tutors up to 3 times per week.
