Russian Flagship scholarships are merit-based and administered through the IU Russian Flagship Program. Russian Flagship students can receive up to $20,000 in Flagship Student Support during their time in the Russian Flagship Program. As of 2019-2020, we are authorized to give up to $3,500 for an approved domestic summer language program, up to $7,000 for an approved pre-capstone study abroad program, and up to $15,000 for the Capstone Year. Flagship Student Support is awarded for the following programs:
Russian Flagship Scholarships
Contracted ROTC cadets in the Russian Flagship Program are eligible to receive Air Force and Army Foreign Language Flagship Scholarships to cover all costs associated with participating in the Russian Flagship.
Student Certification System Requirement
Students applying for Russian Flagship Scholarships are required to complete a profile in the Student Certification System (SCS), a database managed by the National Security Education Program (NSEP) in the U.S. Department of Defense, which funds the IU Russian Flagship Program. Russian Flagship students must keep their profiles in the Student Certification System up-to-date. Russian Flagship students who have not completed a profile in the Student Certification System are not eligible to apply for Language Flagship Scholarships.
The deadline to apply for a Russian Flagship Scholarship is January 20th.
