Rebecca graduated with a PhD in Russian Literature from Indiana University in 2024. Having minored in Czech, she speaks Russian and Czech and has studied abroad in Russia, the Czech Republic, and most recently Kazakhstan. Her interdisciplinary teaching background includes a range of Russian language and Russian culture-related courses, and she has previously taught Russian in IU’s intensive Summer Language Workshop.
Rebecca’s scholarship focuses primarily on Russian and Soviet modernist and avant-garde literature, particularly matters related to time, temporality, genre, and medium. In addition to her literary research areas, she possesses a keen interest in language pedagogy and has been involved in conference panels, online networks, and campus events dedicated to language instruction. In the summer of 2023, she was awarded a Russian Language Teacher Professional Development Fellowship by American Councils to study for a month at Al Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
