Miriam Shrager received her PhD in Slavic Linguistics in 2007 from the Department of Linguistics and the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures at Indiana University. A native speaker of Russian, Miriam specializes in Russian language and linguistics and her research areas include historical and comparative linguistics. She has published articles on Slavic accentology and dialectology, on acoustical phonetics, and on the poetics of Russian proverbs. Her current project is an English translation of Vladimir Propp’s Historical Roots of the Wonder Tale.
